Woman’s Day
Right at the beginning we come to a landmark, a relic from a bygone era, formed from almost indestructible granite. In the middle of a forest that seems idyllic in the twilight, he marks the course of an invisible dividing line. One one side Bavaria, on the other the Czech Republic. Johannes Holzhausen movie Women’s Day is a documentary miniature that emanates from this place, to clarify the distortions of history on family and life contexts. A drooling old man. A woman, suddenly separated from her lover. A son who disappeares in the underground for ten years. These are the protagonists of an arrangement, in which it comes to borders that are still effective, also if they no longer apply, as if they were made of granite.
